 “Four years before coming to YouthBuild, I quit school as a Junior. YouthBuild helped me complete my high school diploma and an internship with the North Chicago Fire Department. I helped rebuild an affordable home in Zion. I came to YouthBuild not just to improve my own life but to make things better for my daughter, who was three years old at the time.

I am now a single mother of two working as a construction laborer at Core Development. I’m not the traditional person you see in this type of position. YouthBuild gave me the support, the training, the education, and the love I needed to get where I am today.”

YouthBuild Lake County helps underserved youth, like Tatiana, every single day. As an education and career training program, we empower young adults, ages 17-24, to take control of their lives and to choose their destinies. Our programs are designed to give our members the education, hands on training, and life skills they need to build their careers and their lives.
