Bridge to College Program
If you’ve already received your GED or high school diploma, you can successfully complete a certification program at the College of Lake County (CLC) that opens new doors to a rewarding career.
What do I learn?
YBLC partners with the College of Lake County to offer career-specific bridge programs. Classes typically meet Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. –3 p.m. Students have the following opportunities:
- College Preparation Classes – Includes college preparatory math, reading and writing, financial aid assistance, guidance counseling, case management, study skills and other coursework, along with personal assistance needed to successfully transition into college.
- College Certification Classes – Vary by career area. YBLC is currently partnered with CLC to provide a variety of certification courses. Call to find out the latest offerings and timeframes.
- Job Shadowing/Internships – Depending on your progress in the college classes, schedules and interest, YBLC helps you secure internship to gain hands-on experience.
Opportunities are excellent for those who complete post-secondary training programs. YBLC will work with you to help secure employment upon successful completion of the program.
