As a YBLC student, you will gain skills and knowledge for a successful future, but the journey is not always easy. To help you succeed and achieve your goals, we offer additional support that you may need.
The Wellness Program was developed in 2006 through a partnership with Rosalind Franklin University. A large portion of the program involves counseling sessions for our students. Throughout the 11 years of our partnership with RFU, tens of thousands of hours of counseling has been completed.
The Wellness Program contains three different components:
Social/Emotional Wellness
- Each student participates in a 2-part social/emotional assessment
- The purpose of these assessments is to tailor your experience here to your individual needs
Wellness Groups
- Wellness groups are led by RFU externs
- The purpose of the groups is to share, support, and problem-solve
- Group discussions involve various wellness topics such as stress management and self-respect
Individual Services
- Students work one-on-one with counselors and YBLC staff to set personal and professional goals and meet regularly to track their progress toward achieving these goals
- The purpose is to identify areas of strength and areas that need improvement and to discuss improvement strategies
- Additional individual services are available based on needs and individual requests
